Amino acid that detoxifies ammonia. It helps the body free itself of excess nitrogen. It protects the liver from damage caused by drugs and chemicals and stimulates liver regeneration. Arginine also acts on hormone secretion.
Arginine is a conditional amino acid, which means the body produces enough to meet your needs under normal conditions, but additional quantities may be required in the event of illness or trauma. High concentrations of arginine are found in the skin and connective tissue, where it helps prevent skin thinning and wrinkles. Arginine also contributes to the production of new bone and tendon cells.
Arginine helps support the immune system by encouraging greater activity in the thymus, where disease-fighting T cells are produced. Wound healing and the production of certain enzymes and hormones are encouraged with the help of arginine. As a detoxifying agent, arginine is needed to make urea, a waste product that removes toxic ammonia from the body.
According to Dr Clark, although not supported by research, arginine is a stimulant for those who stop drinking coffee.
Tips for use
Take one capsule a day, or as advised by your healthcare professional.
If side effects occur, discontinue use immediately. Do not exceed the recommended dose. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease.
